Branding A Start Up – The Great Tree Environmental Group

Posted on December 8, 2014 by darkriderdesign

Branding the Great Tree Environmental Group start up was a fun and noble project because anytime you have a group that wants to do good on a global scale by targeting youth and enforcing environmental responsibility great things are bound to happen.

The brand color palette is composed of bold but simple greens yellows and blues. The anomaly color was taken from ripe fruit. The logo and logo-type contain the silhouette of a tree but abstracted enough to express the complexity of nature while allowing for scalability in different formats.

The branding goals are pretty common: Create a flexible color palette that stands out in digital and in traditional formats, a logo system that can scale to the size of a building but still look good on a postage stamp, build a solid image base that is expressive of the user base while driving home the core missions statement inspiration and responsibility.

ReBranding – Porter Brewing Company – A mixture of GenY and Classic

Posted on December 2, 2014 by darkriderdesign

I recently had the chance to do a rebranding exercise for a local Brewing company. I wanted to use design language that was campy enough to support a younger crowd while still leveraging the traditional look and feel of a classic import. The Logo Type works in both long and stacked formats and the Hero Label and Logo can be broken down from what would essentially be the beer label down to a postage stamp by infusing the antlers into the PB.

The Interface of the web site is styled using “metro” characteristics and on a grid system so that it can adapt well under various screen sizes.

I would love feed back from the beer connoisseurs.
