Once I was a boy who believed that Unicorns were real

Once I was a boy who believed that Unicorns were real.

Once when I was very young a Dragon’s fire I did steal.

Once when I was just a lad the world was wonderful and strange.

Imagination knew the song, hands could cast the change. Wild shadows, witch’s brew, sand box grass flower stew. Magic potions, dirty socks, fire crackers, card board box. Lantern light, crickets delight, the woods at night, the stars were bright.

Time that lasted a thousand years, days that had no end, passion mixed, the God’s betwixt, in cased a child’s zeal.

Once I was a boy who believed that Unicorns were real.

Once when I was very young a Dragon’s fire I did steal.

Once when I was just a lad the world was wonderful and strange.

Imagination knew the song, hands could cast the change. Full moons, circling loons, rings of gold and silver.  My wife is true, My children love, the fates they can deliver.
